CHOOSE THE RIGHT BIKINI FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BIKINI FOR YOUR BODY TYPEBright blue seas, white sandy beaches and the blistering sun. Isn’t it delightful summer and the holidays are coming up again? For this sunny season, each woman obviously needs one (or more) good bikini(‘s). That’s why we’ve selected an exclusive range of the most feminine and stylish bikinis, swimsuits and accessories. Are you going for a swim, sunbathing or lounging? Brands like Calvin Klein, Filippa K and Petit Bateau know how to bring out your female shape at its best. But how can you choose the right bikini for your body type?

BODY TYPES:

H-Line: For an H-line, it is important to draw attention to the top instead of the hips. Pick a striped or patterned piece at top, as these widen the upper body. Try black bottoms to narrow your hips. Do you prefer a swimsuit? Opt for an asymmetrical lined one-piece in a two-tone design. This will balance your upper and lower body.

V-Line:
For a V-line, shorts are a good choice. In terms of design, horizontally striped bottoms and a uni-colored top are the best. Do you rather pick a swimsuit? Then opt for one with a not-too-deep V-neck.

Straight A-Line: The best choice for a straight A-line is a swimsuit or bikini with a push-up or underwire. Details in a contrasting solid and dark color at the top or bottom are the perfect pick. Do you have a less voluminous bottom, then choose a pied-de-poule print to optically conceal it. Let the accents (colors and prints) stay at the top and pick solid colors at bottom.

Round/Pear A-Line:
Choose a swimsuit or bikini with a push-up or underwire. Opt for bright colors, prints and details on top and solid dark colors at bottom. As a result, the emphasis is on the top. Do you rather cover up in a swimsuit? Find a two-tone piece with a light color on top and a dark color at bottom. 8-Line/Hourglass: The 8-line can go all ways with swimwear. In terms of designs and silhouettes almost anything is possible. Try picking high-cut bottoms or swimsuits and solid colors. Decorative details such as bows are fine, but stay away from over-the-top accents. Pick slim-cut items to accent your pretty waist.   O-Line/Apple: Pick bottoms or swimsuits with a French-cut leg: high-cut to emphasize the slender legs which causes a totally slimming look. And try a straight neckline, wide shoulder straps and padded underwired cups. Do you prefer a swimsuit? Then pick one with slimming features. Are you a fuller apple? Opt for a swimsuit or bottoms, team with a skirt and put the accent on the neckline with some eye-catching details.   Check out our Style Guide: Body Shapes to find out what body type you have.

DO YOU ALSO HAVE…

Big Breasts: If you have large breasts, it is important to choose a bikini that provides good support. Take a bikini with a underwire and adjustable straps. And do you have slimmer hips as well? Then go for bottoms with bows on the sides or with a peplum to balance your feminine body shape.

Small Breasts: The easiest way to give your breasts a natural volume is to choose a top with padded cups. Details like frills, bows and ruffles also provide extra volume.

Long Legs: With long legs you automatically have a shorter torso. Therefore, choose low-cut bottoms to give your upper body a little more length. Pick an all-over printed top and as little decorative details as possible.

Short legs: Create longer legs with the help of high-waisted bottoms. This retro-inspired design is right back on trend and very flattering.
